Annett Braune and Tobias Goris discuss the work of the German Institute of Human Nutrition (DIfE) in the SynBio4Flav Project, showing us around the lab where human gut bacteria used in the extraction and identification of novel flavanoid modifying enzymes. DIfE is responsible for the identification and characterization of flavonoid-transforming enzymes and flavonoid transporters from the gut microbiome.
